The Jackson Symphony is proud to announce the 16th Legend Benefit Concert featuring five-time Grammy Award winning Female Vocalist, Wynonna. She will perform with The Jackson Symphony on Thursday, September 25, 2008, 8:00 PM at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Tickets to the concert go on sale to the general public beginning Thursday, May 1, 2008.
The Legend Benefit concert raises money for The Jackson Symphony to present arts educational and outreach initiatives that help enrich the quality of life in West Tennessee. Internationally known artists such as Ray Charles, Gladys Knight, Olivia Newton-John, Carl Perkins, and Kenny Rogers have graced the stage with The Jackson Symphony for a memorable night of music and entertainment. Wynonna’s performance as a Legend artist will further The Jackson Symphony’s commitment of strengthening access to the arts in West Tennessee.
A world-renowned vocalist and entertainer, Wynonna has accumulated sales totals as a solo artist in excess of ten million units, a top Female Vocalist win by the Academy of Country Music and thirteen top ten hits on the charts. Respected by the millions of fans who are drawn to her music and her life story, this twenty-three year music veteran has celebrated 20 #1 hits and a multitude of gold and platinum records. In 2008, the range of Wynonna’s achievements and her commitment to stretch her artistic boundaries will undoubtedly shine yet again as she is scheduled to release the highly anticipated follow-up to her most recent #1 debut album, the third of her solo career (What The World Needs Now Is Love) in October of this year.
