League Activities

Established in 1962, the Jackson Symphony League consists of approximately 200 enthusiastic volunteers who dedicate countless hours in support of the orchestra.

Fund-raisers: The League provides major fundraising support to the orchestra through a number of events. The League’s raffle this year will include a chance to win one of several wonderful items.  Raffle tickets will be on sale through the League Board of Directors beginning in September.  In addition to the raffle, the League will present a "Spirit of Christmas Shop" in conjunction with the December 3rd Christmas Pops concert.  The Crystal Ball Auction will be conducted on January 21 during our annual Crystal Ball.  More information on these fundraising events will be posted here soon.

The Color of Music: Area K-8th graders have the opportunity to listen to classical music and interpret works visually. Art work is judges by a panel of local artists and musicians. Winners are presented awards at a reception in March and selected entries are displayed at two art exhibits. More than 5,000 students participated in the project in 2005.

Hospitality: League members provide refreshments for the orchestra musicians at rehearsals and the recipes are published in an award-winning cook booklet, “Grace Notes.”
